Purpose of the role
As part of a team of Broadcast Coordinators you will play a vital role in ensuring the overall success of the Japanese Service of BBC World News.The role focuses on the day to day running of the Japanese studio in London, while reporting to the London based Operations Manager. In addition to key duties such as monitoring of Japanese audio output and operation of broadcast systems, the Broadcast Coordinator is responsible for local staff coordination, administration and operational reports.
Principal accountabilities
Day-to-day running of our live translation studio
Monitoring Japanese audio output
Broadcast system operations
Reporting issues and assisting with investigations
Assisting with schedules and rotas
Scope and Impact
The role directly impacts our client’s output. The post holder must have high levels of personal integrity and is required to take a considerable level of personal responsibility for their work. Organised and systematic in approach, with punctilious attention to detail, they must be capable of exercising good judgement and be able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.

Qualifications:
Education Level: Graduate
English Ability: Fluent
Japanese Ability: Business level would be beneficial but not essential
Experience: Previous broadcast or coordination experience a distinct advantage

Part time – Thursday and Friday
• 13:00 – 22:00 BST in summer
• 12:00 – 21:00 GMT in winter
• (2 hour break)
Part of the shift will be worked from home:
18:00 -22:00 BST in summer
17:00 – 21:00 GMT in winter
You will be based at Devonshire Road, Chiswick, West London, W4 2HD
