We are looking to recruit a native-level English-speaking language studies graduate to join our growing team of in-house translation specialists. This is an exciting entry role for graduates who would like to start their careers in the translation industry. Your position within the Translation Team will provide invaluable assistance to your colleagues’ daily tasks. You will also our Online Team with a variety of activities and you will learn many new skills along the way. This is an office-based position in Kirkham. Job Description: As Online Support, your main role will be to support Language Insight’s Online team with Overlays, Link Checks, file prepping and aligning, ad-hoc translations and other language-related tasks, maintaining high-quality standards and ensuring deadlines are met. Language Insight’s core client base requires work in Market Research, both Medical and Consumer. Tasks/Duties include: Completing basic to intermediate overlays, understanding basic to intermediate technical difficulties and code structure Completing link checks, using programming tools and platforms to implement changes Aligning translated files using CAT tools Ad-hoc quality checks on files transcribed by freelancers, finalising transcriptions Ad-hoc Translation Support: translations into your native language, translating or checking Open Ends translations into English, simple/standard edits depending on language skills, finalising files, reviewing client changes in your language Answering questions from team members with less experience and providing feedback if you check their tasks as part of your own work Maintaining your own records and admin (training, feedback, timesheet) and process-related logs Full training will be given for aspects of the role which are specific to our business However, you should already possess and display the following: Excellent attention to detail Knowledge and awareness of how other languages differ from English Excellent computer skills, including strong MS Offices skills Natural ability to learn Resourcefulness to work efficiently and independently Eagerness to learn new skills Ability to use initiative when problem-solving Good typing and formatting skills in Word Excellent time management and organisational skills Ability to prioritise and manage your workload Taking responsibility for the quality of your work Degree in Translation/Modern Languages To apply for this role please submit your CV using the form below or email your CV to vacancieslanguageinsight.com.
