Spanish Translator (MAEC) Full Time on the ground NEW

At Lakbyte, we help remote workers, freelancers, entrepreneurs, and families relocate to Spain through immigration pathways such as the Digital Nomad Visa. We handle a high volume of immigration-related documentation requiring official sworn translations accepted by Spanish authorities, including the UGE, Extranjería, police stations, universities, and consulates.

We are looking for a MAEC-accredited Sworn Translator (Traductor/a Jurado/a) to support our growing client base and internal legal operations.

The Role

You will be responsible for producing accurate, legally compliant sworn translations primarily for Spanish immigration and administrative procedures. Most of the work involves English ↔ Spanish translations for visa applications, criminal background checks, company documents, contracts, financial documents, civil registry records, and supporting legal documentation.

This role is ideal for someone who is detail-oriented, responsive, comfortable with deadlines, and familiar with the expectations of Spanish immigration authorities.

What You’ll Do

• Produce sworn translations officially recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MAEC)
• Translate immigration, legal, corporate, financial, and civil documents
• Review apostilles, seals, signatures, and formatting before certification
• Ensure consistency in terminology across recurring client files
• Coordinate with the Lakbyte legal and case management teams regarding urgent submissions
• Maintain confidentiality and GDPR compliance at all times
• Handle both standard and expedited/urgent translation requests
• Deliver digitally signed sworn translations where applicable

Requirements

• Active accreditation as a sworn translator/interpreter by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (MAEC)
• Strong proficiency in English and Spanish
• Experience with immigration, legal, or corporate documentation
• Ability to work under tight turnaround times
• Excellent attention to detail and formatting accuracy
• Comfortable working remotely and asynchronously
• Familiarity with digital signatures and electronic delivery workflows preferred
