Translational Lead Full Time on the ground NEW

Insight Global are seeking a highly experienced Translational Sciences Director with deep expertise in inflammatory and autoimmune diseases to support an early‑stage human observational study for a leading global pharmaceutical organisation.

This position requires 2 days onsite per week (or 8 days per month) in Stevenage, UK for a min. 6 month contract and is Inside IR35.

The Translational Sciences Director will shape and drive the translational science and biomarker strategy for an exploratory Phase 0 human observational study. This is a clinical-facing strategy role focused on biomarker deployment, governance, and interpretation of human data (not hands-on wet-lab execution).

You will lead the definition of biomarker strategy—target engagement, mechanistic biomarkers, and exploratory signals—and define how these will be operationalised in humans (endpoints, sampling approach, data review cadence, and governance). You will interpret human biomarker data and translate findings into clear recommendations and decision points for clinical and research stakeholders.

Must‑Have Requirements Include:

• PhD in an inflammatory or autoimmune‑focused discipline, with significant translational leadership in human studies.
• Demonstrated experience deploying biomarker strategies into human clinical/observational studies (endpoint selection, sampling strategy, governance).
• Strong scientific reputation supported by peer‑reviewed publications in the inflammation field.
• Proven ability to interpret human biomarker datasets and drive strategic recommendations.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, dynamic setting with shifting priorities.
• Deep disease‑area expertise in inflammation, such as: Lupus, Systemic autoimmune diseases, Psoriasis, Inflammatory bowel disease
• Experience must include time within clinical or pharmaceutical industry settings.

Plusses Include:

• Prior involvement in Phase 0 or early human observational studies.
• Familiarity with emerging biomarker platforms or governance pathways for biomarker deployment.
• Exposure to AI‑driven literature or data‑mining tools.
• Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and lead cross‑functional scientific discussions.

Important: This role is focused on clinical/translational strategy, governance, and interpretation of human biomarker data. It is not a bench/lab execution role.
