A Leave Contract opportunity is available for a Sign Language Interpreter in the Nashville, TN area. This temporary position will cover a maternity leave from March 25th through May 13th, providing essential communication support in an educational setting.

Location:

• Nashville, TN (Franklin Special School District)

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate effective communication between deaf or hard-of-hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff.
• Interpret classroom instruction, discussions, and school activities accurately and confidentially.
• Support student inclusion by providing clear and accessible communication in various school environments.
• Collaborate with educators and staff to ensure smooth daily operations and support student needs.
• Maintain professionalism and adhere to ethical standards of sign language interpreting.

Qualifications:

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL) with interpreting experience in educational settings preferred.
• Ability to interpret accurately and convey tone and intent appropriately.
• Knowledge of Deaf culture and sensitivity to communication needs.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Availability for the specified contract period from March 25th to May 13th.
