Nursing Home Translation Specialist Trilingual (Vietnamese, Mandarin & Cantonese Speaking) Full Time on the ground

Our Long-Term Care Facility is looking to hire a Triligual Translator fluent in Chinese. MUST SPEAK CHINESE.

The role of an interpreter is to fill the language gap so that patients are able to communicate their needs to health professionals and in turn, the health care providers can explain a diagnosis, treatment plan and projected recovery time to all those concerned about the patient. The interpreter doesn’t provide his or her own opinion but simply offers an interpretation of the words put in front of him or her. What’s most important is ensuring all words interpreted are accurate and improve communication between healthcare professionals and the patient.

The idea candidate would be someone who is patient and enjoys helping the elderly or nursing students interested in entry level work in a Long-Term Care setting. 

Requirements:

• You will be expected to translate on behalf of our Chinese speaking patients and medical profressionals.
• Must be able to speak and interpret Chinese, Cantonese, Mandarin, and Vietnamese.
• Accompany patients to and from doctors appointments.

Qualifications:

• H.S Dimploma/G.E.D and proof of Medical Interpreter training (minimum 40 hours)
• National Board Certification for Medical Interpreters
• Fluent in English, Cantonese, Vietnamese, and Mandarin, both oral and written.
• Reliable means of Transportation
• Covid-19 Vaccination required or Exemption for Medical/Religous reasons
