Translator Full Time on the ground

Role Description

We are looking for an English-to-Assamese translator for our projects and review. The person should have a powerful command of English and these languages and know Spiritual concepts (Added advantage)
– English and one additional language (Assamese)

Responsibilities:

– Handling all kinds of Translation, Editing, and proofreading projects from English to Assamese, and other languages & and vice versa in different domains.
– Manage the timely flow of all projects, ensuring that projects meet quality & and turn-around time.

Qualifications
– Fluent language skills in source and target languages
– Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both languages
– Demonstrated experience in translation is preferred
– Strong attention to detail and knowledge of cultural nuances
– Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics, Translation, or a related field is preferred
– Experience with Translation Memory Software is preferred
– Strong time-management skills and ability to work effectively in a remote environment

Responsibilities
– Conducting translations of documents, texts, and audio recordings from English to Assamese, and vice versa, while maintaining a high level of accuracy and capturing the intended meaning
– Ensuring that translated materials adhere to cultural and linguistic nuances while considering the target audience and purpose of the document
– Read the given material and research industry-specific terminology
– Convert text and audio recordings from one language to one or more others
– Ensure translated content conveys original meaning and tone
– Prepare subtitles for videos and online presentations
– Cross-reference specialized dictionaries and translation tools to check the quality of translation
– Proofread translated texts for grammar, spelling, and punctuation accuracy
– Follow up with internal team members and clients to ensure translation meets their needs
– Edit content to maintain its original format (e.g. font and structure)
– Network with field experts to stay current on new translation tools and practices

Requirements and skills
– Proven work experience as a Translator, Interpreter, or similar role
– Fluency in at least two languages – English and Assamese.
– Excellent proofreading skills with the ability to identify grammar, spelling, and punctuation errors
– Good knowledge of content editing tools
– Familiarity with translation software
– Time-management skills

Job Type: Freelance
Contract length: 2 months

Pay: ₹10,000.00 – ₹25,000.00 per month
