Zhou Y, Chinese translator

Simplified Chinese translator

My name is Zhou Yijun, I am the lead Simplified Chinese translator for various software application UIs, video game dialogs, and the corresponding user manuals, including texts from Proton VPN (Android app), 1000 Deaths, dpScreenOCR, Feeel, Fly-Pie (partial), Night Theme Switcher, Metadata Cleaner, MyPaint, PianoBooster, Susi AI, jExifToolGUI (partial), Neo Store, Seeneva, and more. These applications span multiple platforms, including Windows, Android and Linux distributions. I also have experience in website and marketing material translation for companies in various industries such as Translated (a translation agency), Seedi (a corporate-oriented consulting company), Ponsse (a forestry machinery company), and Athens Swimming Cruise (a cruise tourism operator) and am one of the translators and proofreaders of the user interfaces for Dun & Bradstreet (a corporate database and business intelligence enterprise). In literature, I have experience in story translation and published three booklets, some content of which is in both languages, where I handled writing, editing and aspects of cover design.
As to typesetting, layout, and file formats, I have worked with a variety of Word and PDF documents, including business letters, manuscripts, and books (both eBooks and paperbacks). I have also designed my own web pages and translated content for clients’ websites, directly handling digital materials that require careful formatting. My experience includes both single- and multipage documents, spanning both electronic and hardcopy formats, and extends to spreadsheets, where I have created and formatted tables and charts to present data effectively, as well as engineering drawings, including topographic maps and construction drawings (CAD files, *.dwg). In these areas, I deal with issues related to layout, spacing, fonts, tables, charts, math formats, and image editing, and have also participated in projects involving reformatting of scanned documents.
In addition to my translation work, I have experience in transcription, subtitling, and AI training. I use editing software and transcription / subtitling tools in the production processes of variously themed video and audio content. In the RLHF projects (AI training), I perform fact-checking and write incisive and nuanced feedback (over 100,000 words to date) for adjustments to improve the responses of AI chatbots. I am eager to get involved in any possible projects involving transcription, subtitling, and AI annotations, including translation projects in these areas.
