My name is Balázs Rappert I am an English to Hungarian translator and I have been working as a technical translator for the past five years and I believe that I have the right skill-set for your team. I translate both from English into Hungarian and from Hungarian into English.

Having graduated from Sapientia Hungarian University with a bachelor’s degree in Applied Linguistics, specializing in Translation and Interpreting Studies, I believe I qualify for this position of Translator. My native language is Hungarian and I have excellent mastery over the English language. I am also a published author in the topic of technical translation with a published scientific paper in “Multilingvism and Purilingvism in Europa” titled “The Difficulties of Translating the Specialized Language of Pyrotechnics from English into Hungarian”. I currently study Mechanical Engineering for a second bachelor’s degree, which gives me valuable insight into a large number of technical and scientific domains (metallurgy, machining and machinery, mathematics, physics, technical drawing and 3D design rendering). I consider this a valuable skill as a technical translator.

I also have excellent computer and software skills and extensive experience with CAT software (memoQ, SDL Trados, SubtitleEdit, Amara, etc.) as well as PDF and text editing. I can work with a large variety of text files, including editable PDFs (however, I charge extra for scanned or handwritten PDF documents). I also currently own a license for memoQ 8.2 for an indefinite period.
